He is Co-Chairman of the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) and, contributing columnist for Washington Post as well as for Project Syndicate. He serves as Senior Advisor to the Wallenberg Foundations in Sweden and is member of the Board of Trustees of the RAND Corporation in the US. He has served as both Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Sweden.
